Some filters promise everything. We'd rather you know where the limits are.
The Survival Straw doesn't remove viruses, chemicals or heavy metals.
It isn't made for salt water or pool water.
It's built for freshwater: rivers, lakes, streams, ponds and rain.
If you're ever unsure about the water, for example after a flood, near farms or septic systems, or any time you just don't know, use two steps:
Filter with the Survival Straw first to take out the sediment, bacteria and parasites.
Then add a chlorine tablet, or unscented household bleach, following the dosing directions on the label.
And boiling? Boiling works too, if you have fuel, a working stove and time.
It won't take out the mud or the microplastics. The straw does, with no fire at all.
So when the water's off and everyone in the house is looking at you, you won't be guessing.
You'll know which step comes next, and you'll make the right call for your family.
